Default 3/4 ton Sonoma

i took a 79 gmc k2500 and a Sonoma built one sweet ride [IMG][/IMG]

Sorry for the lack of pics and info heres more

I took a 79 GMC K2500 Frame, Drivetrain, Motor and trans and Put a 96 Sonoma Body on the FUll Size frame

Started with the tear Down
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

The 79 Body Rotted right off but still had a solid frame sandblasted and paint the frame
Using a 400 SB with a TH400 with a np208

the 400SB has a edelbrock performer intake and edelbrock 750 Carb (limegreen)

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Next was to set the cab where i wanted to take mesurements for my custom mounts

[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
ended up smashing the window in the mounting process oops

i bolted the front clip to see if i had enough clearence to mount the full size radiator
[IMG][/IMG]

then came the box
[IMG][/IMG]

had to stuff boards in the wheel wells to couldnt find a jack big enough lol
[IMG][/IMG]

Got all mounts bolted on to the frame and the Body

[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

Welded my new rear bumper on 6" C channel
[IMG][/IMG]

Disigned my new front bumper [IMG][/IMG]

took the front bumper from paper to the frame thats 6" C chennel to bolted to the frame not welded wanted to make sure i could pull it off when i put the 383 stocker in
[IMG][/IMG]

Cut the wheel wells out why Ethan was making sure the steering wheel was tight and all working order
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

Mounted the Rings and Plate to my bumper all i have to due now is the sringer and supports
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Shes Running and Driving now but still not ready for the mud yet
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Thats all i have for now ill keep you posted on more i things i have to do
Stinger for the front bumper
body work
paint
filler pannels so the po po cant see the huge 12" body lift lol
and new radiator

just add part of my new stinger and new

Painted the truck this weekend can miss it

I had to go with a 12" body on the box the cab is like a 7" I had to do that cause the way the frame was compared to the sonoma frame this frame is the 79 and it's curves and the sonoma frame is flats that's y the 12" lift

While I like this, I would have cut out the curved areas of the 79 frame and made it fit around the new body.

I'm confused. If mounting this cab on this frame required a 32" body lift, why did you not just put te sbc and axles under the S-10?

Not trying to be a dick, but you've never seen an S-10/Sonoma on a fullsize frame? Have you ever actually been to a mud bog?
