will a distributorfrom a 1.3 fit into a 1.6 8v

yes, i believe so, because teh 1.6 fits on the 1.3...

swaping a 1.6 8v into a sami that has a webber /header ran good but smoked I was thinking it would be nice to use the sami distributor (to keep wiring the same )along w/ carb & header got new engine bolted in today with the trail tuff adapter kit Ill know for sure tomorrow one way or the other

yes, actually it is how it is suggested that you use the 1.3 dist by most manufacturers of swap kits

the distributor bottoms (cam gear area)were different the sami had quite abit longershaft so I just put the 1.3 distributor adapter(?)on the 1.6 & it went right together
