Default Gladwin - ORV Public meeting March 10th

"March 10, 8:30 a.m., Gladwin County Courthouse Commissioners Chambers (3rd Floor) Public Hearing on ORV use."

There is a public meeting to discuss the proposed Gladwin County ORV ordinance.

I will be there to contest the preliminary map of proposed roads that will be closed (see attached Map). As I understand it, the DNR does not want ORV's to be able to drive on the shoulders of forest roads (Sterling Truck Trail, East Center Fire trail and others on the South side of M-61) as shown in the yellow section of the attached Map.

I believe the purpose of HB4323 is to make sure we can access our trail system from anywhere and get to the local business's... I can see closing a major hwy for safety reasons but forest roads??? It makes no sense to me. In Arenac county, these roads are open but when you get into Gladwin you'll have to stop and turn around...
