Default SE Michigan Yota's

Any body feel the discrimination? I am a Yota man and also a Ford dude. I came out from Tractor Supply today and my left rear Yota tire was slashed. Thank goodness for full sized spares, but I'm going to have to spend some cheese, as my tires (the other 3 BFG mt(33x9.50x15)) are no longer in production. Is this AMERICAN? Bastards, but foreign chicks and trucks can be HOT! I understand we are on hard times, but am I supposed to ditch my 29yr old Toy and take out a loan for an 09 POS?
If there is a rants and raves, please move this MODS, thanks. Otherwise if you have a single 33x9.5x15 PM me. Peace out

Did you ask Tractor Supply if they have a security camera? Only a low life inbred hillbilly would stoop that low.

Lst year I went to see Machine Head at the Machine Shop in Flint. I came out and someone wrote "FAG" in the snow on my tonneau cover. I fugered they were jealous because they knew I was going to get home with all the snow we got that night.

I have had quite a few run-ins over the years and I have owned Toyota trucks on and off over the last 12 years. Funny thing is, I never got any shit when I had my Subaru WRX. I hate having to tell them that a Pontiac Vibe is the same as a Toyota Matrix wich is a Corolla underneath, Tracker is a Suzuki, their Chevy truck was probably built in Canada while my Toyota was built in California. "The $$ still goes to Japan" and its ok for GM to give them $$? A Geo Prizm was just a re-badged Corolla too. FUnny how I had a dealer tell me years ago they hardly sold Corollas but Prizms would sell like crazy (long before gas was even $2 a gal.) .

Sucks about your tire. I would go back and see if they have a camera. If not, see if you can claim it against their insurance. It didn't happen in your yard.

Hell, you get it here for owning one. If I want a tow vehicle, I will buy a Chevy. I have nothing against them. I want a smaller truck. They can fit a lot better through trails. The aftermarket (or lack there of blows for the Colorado). I sat in a brand new Colorado too. Thats why I went right back down the street and bought my used Taco.

it may or may not be specific to the brand. ive had it happen with different vehicals usually for because they were nice or "newer" more so than what brand they were.

trashing people's property is so ultra retarded theres nothing to figure out. theres no logic trail to follow, the voice in their head might be something like . . " ive busted out your windows because youve got the wrong brand car. now that youve got the "message" you should sell or preferably burn your car and go get a loan for a new correct brand car. the purchase of that one vehical will of course result in me getting a big promotion and all jobs coming back to the states". . . a 3 year old child has better reasoning skills than the people that vandalize stuff. a 3yr old knows that, A. you deal with the man to get things done (who ever is in charge). and B. acting out gets you equal doses of the affect and consiquince, ie. theres no net gain in whatever they were after.

That sucks that they slashed your tire. It is a long shot but PM Mudviper he used to run one of those tires as a spare but it has been years. I love my old Broncos but for a DD and light wheeling I beat on my Yotas because they are cheap. My Broncos are too expensive to take out and destroy. I have had Rangers,S10's and Broken II's when they were a few years old and had more problems than I do now with my 20-24 year old Toyotas. I have never had any issues with people messing with my ride but I would be afraid to take my 97 4Runner to a customers plant and park in the union employee's lot.
We build equipment for the automakers and they are building a lot of cars and trucks in Mexico and parts come from all over the globe. I am glad all of my Yotas are old enough to have been built in Japan. My Broncos rolled of the line in Wayne Mi but they don't build them anymore so I found the next best thing.

I notice a lot of them when I visit my bro-in-law in Roanoke, VA too.

All of them in MI are in the UP. I think there are more up there than in all the LP. I see a lot more of them up there than I do down here. I spotted this in Marquette last August.

I really think it was a bunch of buy-backs.

I found a suprising number of people who really disliked my last truck because it was a Toyota. Not just little joking comments, but really hated the thing.

Funny, I get crap now because I'm using Toyota axles under a 50's era Willys.

The funny thing for me was when i was in school, almost every one would rag on my truck when i was around because it was a toyota, but would say how sweet they thought it was when i left. Brother has the same thing now in school. Aways funny though when they run there mouth bout the truck then you show them up later wheeling. They just hate cuz they think they should

One of the major benefits of having a 'Yota is it something different. I hate having a vehicle and seeing another identical one going the other way. I am not too worried about seeing another like mine around this town. There are only about a handfull of DoubleCabs my bodystyle around town anyway.

At least when they pop up for sale around here, they are usually pretty cheap. I missed out on a '87 Land Cruiser with 93k on it for $2400. It was in great shape too.

How many years did you wheel your old truck?

3 years. A lot of people were blown away on what a Toy can do with that little 22RE and 38.5s. But still were biased against it just because its a Toyota.

That is a pretty crappy story. I can understand being frustrated- my last job was for GM and my next one looks like it will be doing work for GM so I feel it too. But wrong is wrong....

I get a 2007 Tundra for a company car once every few weeks, I will randomly get people giving me the finger or telling me to buy a real truck and crap like that. I find it rather comical because the truck is built in Texas and all.

Oh... and are there any people on here that are fans of older Toyota cars? I have a 1977 Celica that I stuffed a Turbo Supra motor into(7M-GTE/R154). I can't find to many people that have any older yotas in MI besides the trucks.

The guy that does my frontend work owns Suspension Maxx (sold in Summit Racing). He bought a new Tundra CrewMax after years of Chevys & Fords and loves it. I will have to ask him how much %^&* he gets. It is all graphic'd up with his company logo on it.

Any pics of the Celica? I looked at a '77 that was in great shape. I thought about the same thing you did.

I work for AISIN, I am sure you Yota guys know what that is..... we had a few issues with the transmission in testing, but overall its a pretty good truck, and its damn fast too. There is a lot of frame flex and reverberation(sp?) over bumps on the road on every one except for the crewmax, to the point of being annoying actually.

Pictures? of course I have pictures!
