Got it started today. Sounds really good. got my wire harness havnt installed it yet. I have something wrong with the distributer its making a funky loud clicking noise. Ill be sure to take care of that soon. Picked up my custom drive shaft cost me 65.00. Local guy fabs any thing from drive shafts to pulling tractor accessories. Ill post more pics when I get more done.

Got some work done today. worked on getting the wire harness installed- this is gonna take a while. I got this from e-z wire for 150.00. it has 12 circuits and it has a compact design for tight spaces.

wire harness is routed and connected. every thing works. E-Z wire sent great, easy to read directions and schematics. replaced distributer this eliminated funky loud clicking noise. old one had a tweaked shaft. Ill post pics when I get the harness wrapped in split loom. now to figure out why thermostatically controlled fan wont turn on.

Worked on the jeep today. hooked up throttle linkage to the carb, worked on my thermostat problem. I concluded the thermostat is bad- back to summit it goes. Corbau seats come in tomorrow, gotta pick up gas peddle assembly from the junkyard, instal front drive shaft, finish front break lines, instal break, gas and clutch peddles tomorrow and it should drive.

Thanks for the compliment. A deal on the harness would have been nice, thanks any way. Found some nice LED tail lights that come in 2a housing. Im really debating on whether to go flush mount LED or the 2a LED. The 2a LED would be vulnerable to breakage but would preserve the original look. 60 bucks through 4x4 hardware.

Got a few goodies the other day.
Went with the KNN extreme to get good air flow and I really didn't care to have a chrome or painted air cleaner lid. Gotta get some tall black valve covers new spark plug wires and some plug wire organizers to neaten up the engine compartment.
[IMG][/IMG]
I have to make seat brackets yet. should be done in a day or two. I love these seats! they're Corbues baja suspension seats. I got the short back version to try to keep the original look.

Jeep drives... till fuel filter clogs with rust. Im treating the tank with some rust eater I got from tractor supply company. Treated the bottom so far and find it to be very effective. eats it down to the bare metal.

Been working on the Jeep. Got the passenger and rear seat installed. Had to make brackets for the front seats, rear seat bolted right in (rear seat will be recovered in black material later). Set the ignition timing. Engine runs and idles great. Still have a lot of odds and ends to do. Havnt done the axle upgrade yet, Im going to power brakes and will go with discs up front and drums in the back.I need to figure what pinion angle I can run at and weld on some new spring perches. I plan to go with a spring under set up.
Heres how it sits now.

Made a shift knob. Thinking of cutting down shift lever, little too tall.

Another angle

The back wells have por15, got to top coat them with the rubberized undercarriage stuff. Plan to get the front when I get more por15. I got to strip the chrome off the wheels and paint them too. I got a Bronco for sale, if you want another Bronco project.

Update: Ive been driving it around a bit to work out some bugs. I still have the stock axles with 5.35 gearing. Im getting ready to go to a NT d30 up front and NT amc 20 in the rear. These will give me stronger, upgradable axles and a little wider track. I plan to put solid axles and a locker of some type in the amc 20. The "new" axles will have 3.54 gearing. Not sure if Ill like this gear size with the sm465 trans for road, trail and some sand. Constructive input on locker type and gear size is wanted.
