Hahaha im just messin with you guys. I ended up not even wasting my money to get the heads checked for warping when I realized they were steel and not alluminum. So I decided to put the car back together all to spec and see if its still messing up. I already tried fixing the headgasket once but accidently used thread locker on the head bolts. So it all messed up and only torqued down to about 40 foot pounds. So I reused those head gaskets and did everything right with liquid teflon(molyrite, pstd, etc) and used new header and intake gaskets with rtv on the edges and now she runs pretty good. My friends going to teach me how to "power time" the car in a little bit. Timing is still a little off. But no more blown gaskets!! Feels good to accomplish something. Haha. Took us from 6:30pm last night to about 5:00 this morning to do both head gaskets. Valve lash took forever to do. Pluse my buddys take a damn 10 minute cigarette brake ever hour lol

You're so full of shit, I can smell you through the computer.

BTW my lawn mower has 105:1 compression and runs on 213 octane rocket fuel. I couldn't dyno it cuz no dyno can handle the power it makes.....

I miss drag racing (used to be very active in bracket racing with my kaw z-1 900). I would like to take my 61 F100 to the track and have some fun with it. I can't imagine it running much better than 16s but it makes lots of noise and it will smoke the tires.

Well they were new and never torqued passed 35 foot pounds. Also the car only ran about 45-60 seconds on them before we realized they were not sealing. BUt they sealed fine now. I have ran the car and got it hot enough for the thermostat to open up and I checked the oil and theres no milk.

Well they looked okay. And everyone else said they were okay to reuse. But its only a 50/50 chance they seal. And in some cases they are reusable.

I have re-used a headgasket once. Due to a rocker rail bolt snapping . I had not ran it though. I asked a few engine builders and they said as long as it has not been ran, you'll be okay.

This has turned into one of those epic topics that will eventually make it around every forum on the intraweb, I love knowing that it originated on GL4x4.

AJ, I would love to race your car with my truck, nothing crazy...just a crew cab 4x4 F-250 with a tuner, you said it ran a 13.6...so you should have absolutely no problem with me. We really need to set up a test and tune day at Milan this summer.
