I agree they don't, it would make the phone too easy to use...God forbid.

I am a first time bb user as of one week ago. I absolutely love my BB Storm! I was so close to switching to AT&T to get the iPhone, but I just couldn't walk away from such a great provider. Verizon hasn't been known to have the greatest phones, but the smartphones are a whole new ball game as I am finding out. The iPhone has been around longer so it's got some great apps by now. It's only a matter of time for the Storm to get similar market support. As I'm still getting used to the phone and all of it's features, it has plenty of great apps and built in equipment to keep me busy. I have the personal BB package, and it's great to get e-mails, texts, pictures, music, movies, and others media right there on my phone. It all works together seamlessly so far and I look forward to more apps in the future. There's alot of free one's out there already, you just have to be picky when looking to purchasing them, as they've not been out long enough to be tested thoroughly. I am a proud BB owner!

My wife has one and Play with it all the time. If you've never head another blackberry it's the way to go. The key board does take getting used to but the full screen is awesome compared to the Pearl or curve.

Now if you've had a BB with a keyboard and are comfortable with that then the Curve and Pearl might be better for you since it's familar. . . .

I'm getting a Storm in about 4 months . . currently have a Treo.

WAT?

Blackberries have been around longer than pretty much anything. The Storm is just a new phone built on the same platform. And the apps have been around for quite a while. Definitely far longer than iPhone apps.

All of the people I've known with old blackberries that moved to the Storm have returned them.

I used a BB Curve for a year. Overall it was decent unit.

I switched to an iphone in december and have no regrets.

They are crap IMHO. I have been using BB for probably 4 years or so, and my brother picked up a Storm. I hated it right away, unresponsive, and terrible user interface. Needless to say he's never had a BB and still returned it a few days later. Probably will be a nice phone in a couple months once they work out bugs, and the suckieness.

Well, we ended up both getting BB Storms tonight. Since we were extending our contract, Verizon gave us a $100 credit, plus they have a buy 1 get 1 free deal on the Blackberry phones. Out the door we paid about $120 for 2 of them.

Like many people have said, existing BB users don't seem to like it. I've never used one before and so far I really like it. I have nothing to compare it to. If I really need a fast internet connection, I will just pull out the laptop and the Sprint air card.

First application you are going to want is Talklock. This will disable the touch screen while using the phone and prevent other applications from starting.

What I meant schweeb, was that the iPhone has been around longer than the BB Storm. There are many apps for the BB, but they have to be modified to work correctly on the Storm.

And yes, the very first thing any BB Storm owner should get is the Talk Lock by Avantcell!

I just picked up a BB Storm on Saturday and have been getting used to it. My fiancee has had her BB Pearl for almost a year now and she tells me that my internet browser is so much faster than hers. This is my first BB. All I know is that I like it alot.

I used to only have internet access from work. I paid for my phone to double as the modem for my laptop and have unlimited internet access. Now I have emerged from the dark ages and have internet access from home (or wherever I take my BB Storm).

Haven't uploaded any apps. for it yet but I am sure that it is only a matter of time. Besides TalkLock what other apps. are invaluable for you other BB users?

just picked up the Curve on Sunday, wie loves it, I like it too. I played with the Storm for an hour waiting for the Verizon monkeys to help me, and just couldn't get used to the typing. With the phone in horizontal mode, it did make it easier to type, but the movement of the screen was too weird for me.

I have a Storm, I like it. I got used to the touch screen pretty quickly, and the virtual buttons are bigger than the buttons on the "regular" Blackberries. Internet comes up decently fast for going through the phone lines, service is good, and I love the alarm setting that it can start off really quiet and then get louder if you don't turn it off. So far, so good, I'd recommend it if you give it a try and the virtual keyboard works for you - I know for a lot of people it doesn't. (including the saleswoman at Verizon, haha)

I just bought the curve and typing on it now and just found out it has spell check. Even though I won't need it as much as I have to watch what I am typing. Where before my fingers did what they wanted. But I'm sure when I get used to the keys I will screw up again and be back to normal farmboy typing

But like they said all the sales peope had curves and said people with storms hated them compaird to curves as they froze up and needed better softwear before they will go back to one

My wife and I just renewed our contract with verizon and upgraded to the Storm from a razor. With the new every two we rec'd $100 off and a $60 instant rebate on top of buy 1 get 1 free. For $100, we couldn't resist. Even though we haven't downloaded any apps yet we love our BB's. It's definitely a whole new world for us coming from a razor. I can't wait to hit up the BB sites to check out the apps available.
