The fix is very easy and very inexpensive. Replacing just a couple of small parts will make the lever nice and firm again.


There is a plastic cup that goes on the ball at the bottom of your shifter post that will wear away and cause "slack" between the lever and the rail mechanism. This is what it looks like:




Another common problem is slack between the lever and the post that comes up out of the transmission. I'll post pics of thise parts shortly...
