Default Got my new console.

I got home from Iraq last Sunday and got to open all the stuff piled up from Christmas and my birthday that were waiting for me. The one thing I really couldn't wait to see was my new console I got from MaxBilt. This thing is built like a brick shithouse. Here's some pictures.

This thing comes completely wired. Just hook up the power and attach any 2 auxiliary items to the switches .

I mean seriously... I don't have to do anything here but a couple of crimps. It even has the fuses built in.

With all that, they still managed to put in spot for the radio, an aux power socket, exterior lights front and rear, and a light inside. Just wish the weather would get warm enough to put the thing in my YJ.

OK, so I tried to install it today, but it was a bit colder than I anticipated. Usually the sense of touch (which was diminishing ever so quickly) is a god thing when trying to remove bolts.

Here is the crappy console I presently have in my 91 YJ. It has the security of a wet paper bag. Plus I think I could kill anthrax with the stuff growing inside of it.

An unfair advantage goes to MaxBilt in the side by side comparison.

The bolts for the front are hidden well underneath the front cup holders.

For the rear, you have to remove the inner section of the console.

The four mounting holes for the rear are located to the rear.

They mount to the riser that keeps the console level.

At this point it just got too cold to continue. Once it warms up... I will finish it up once it gets warmer.

OK got it installed. It took some alterations.... through no fault of MaxBilt. My rollcage proved to be too far fwd for the practical application of the mounting brace that secures to the bottom of the console and the floor. I had to mount it directly to my cage on the floor. (self drilling screws) Had it been installed in a completely stock wrangler... it would have been a 5 min job. Now I just need to wire it up. Pics will be posted tomorrow evening.

This is my Yj it was installed in.

As stated previously, The fit is a bit snug... but through no fault of MaxBilt. Being that it was designed around a stock wrangler, and not one with a cage such as mine... I am confident it would fit w/o a hitch.
