Default Sony A300

I have a 14 year old girl that is working on her middle school yearbook.
She really is enjoying taking pictures, but all I have got her so far is a couple point and shoot digitals.

One of the parents from my son's wrestling team let her shoot some stuff with her Sony A300 and she really liked it. The big thing was the tilting view finding screen thing.

I found that camera with a 35-70mm lens and a 18-200mm lens for under 500 bucks.

Would that be a decent camera for her????

That camera has great reviews.

You cant go wrong with it or a Cannon or Nikon entry level DSLR.

The best thing about the Sony is the Live view performs much better than its competitors.

There are good reviews at steves digicams website. Google it.

I have the A300 and absolutely love it. Not an entry level by any means, but if you have the coin to drop on it then I say you cant go wrong.

I really wanted to get a canon, and when I compared the "feel" and what not side by side with the sony, I ended up with the sony.

the only thing I dont like about it is no movies....most dslr's dont do movies except the new nikon for like 1200 bucks.
so I just went out and got a digital video camera that records to SD cards that is actually smaller than my DSLR.

good luck

I've got an A200 (same thing w/o the tilt screen) and have been pretty happy with it. Got a sony because I already had 3 minolta lenses for it.

A100 here. I've had it for a couple years and it does what I need it to do.
