Default bringing a car into the U.S.

im looking into getting a mild built mustang from canada. My issue is what do i need to do to make shure im doing this right and what kind of fees and what not i might have to pay in this process. I plan on driving over the border getting it and drving it straight home. Any one ever buy a car from canada?

When i bought my truck from the states you have to have the person send the title to customs 75hrs in advanced then you have to pay tax and duty and a % of what it is worth and if it has ac an extra 100

Dutiable Entry
Foreign-made vehicles imported into the U.S., whether new or used, either for personal use or for sale, are generally dutiable at the following rates:

Auto 2.5%
Trucks 25%
Motorcycles either free or 2.4%

Duty rates are based on price paid or payable. Most Canadian-made vehicles are duty-free.

this the fee?

when you get to the border you pay the 2.5 fee and then the 100 for ac and then half of your other taxes and then when you go put it in your name you pay the rest

i dont think he has to pay the 2.5% duty fee, to bring it here, because that particular, is a duty free car. AFAIK. i could be wrong.
