Default WTB 4x4 Quad

I'm looking for something in the $1000-$2000 range. It would be great to have a plow or winch but I would take it if it doesn't have them. I'm just looking for something around the house to use no trail riding or anything like that. PM if you have anything.

Good luck, honestly.

I searched for a 4x4 quad for plow and mowing duties at our new house and couldn't touch one under $2k - and a ratted-out one at that.

I ended up trading a motorcycle for a 1987 JD212 garden tractor with a mower deck, snowplow, garden plow, culltivator, seeder, airator, and roller. I'm fairly happy with it - after I put ATV tires on the back.

I'm really just looking for one to use to go cut wood with. Something I can throw my saws and gas on and go. I don't even mind if it might need some repairs to it.

Well,
I don't know quads from a hole in the ground, but I think you could get away with 2WD. I say this because I wanted a 4WD quad for working around the house (especially snowplowing) and I do just fine with my 2WD garden tractor. Looks like a local kid plows snow for $ with a 2WD quad also.

You could probably pick up a Honda 350 utility quad in decent shape for what you're willing to spend.

http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=113706 is a good 2WD quad for a good price. They're a pretty popular sport/ute hybrid that you see on the trails a lot. I know the guy selling it, and he's pretty good about taking care of stuff...

The problem that I have is when I go cut wood it usually in the fall and the ground is soft. I find most of the time I using the 4x4 in my truck to get into the woods. I thought a quad would be easier plus I could use it for other things around the house also. My timberwolf gets stuck in 2in of snow.

I'm still looking for one. Let me know what's out there. If it doesn't run and not a huge mess let me know.
