Wow, talk about a bunch of misinformation

OK, here goes:

CDI: This number is for certain contractors and supplier employees. This is not a program accessible by average Chrysler employees. It is known as the Affiliate Vehicle Purchase Plan. Preferred Price, 1% below factory invoice.

Employee Purchase Program: Chrysler active full time and part times employees and retirees. Extended to immediate family and certain extended family.

Friends Program Preferred Price: Employees can extend the same savings as the CDI program to whoever they choose outside of those eligible under the employee program.

Employee Choice: Allowed employee to give employee discount to anyone. This was a limited program and is no longer available. I have heard rumor that certain executives, way up, still have access to these numbers, but I have not been able to confirm this.

All of these options (other than the EC) are still out there. The last information we received was in December of 2008 and explained the program going into 2009, no changes.

Will these programs be around forever? At this point we do not know.

I do know the company was cracking down on people giving control numbers who were not authorized to do so. I know some dealers were asking us for access at one time. This was discouraged.

As far as the buy out vouchers? Those were tied directly to the employees name and income. In other words, if I had one and gave to you to buy a car, I would still be liable for the taxes as it is considered income.

Interesting since I can still generate the control numbers.

And I posted what I did since there always seems to be confusion over the different programs.

I am offering him the "Friends" program number, not the "Family" program.

If there is a new offer coming out to offer employee discounts to all, well, great. He should take advantage of it.

My point in posting was your declaration that all discount programs were no longer available. According to the company I work for, and the access I have, this is not true.

I will correct a mistake here.

There was a short lived CDI program last year that allowed us to give our full discount to whoever we chose. It was so short lived it slipped my mind. It gave most of us 1 number and gave Execs 50. Execs had until Jan. 2 2009 to use them. The rest of had to use them by last September.

The regular CDI program is still in place and still geared towards suppliers and contractors.

If dealers would just advertise normal pricing people shopping for cars wouldn't get so pissed off. Instead dealers list vehicles and are either 'out' of that specific one in the ad or you need to be black, born on the 4th tuesday of september, an employee, ex vet, brother to the president, disabled elephant trainer and olympic medalist to get the advertised pricing according to that nearly unreadable fine print under the ads.

Quit your biching! Everyone gets employee discounts and incentives unless you want a Sprinter.

"Chrysler LLC, which suffered a 30% drop in sales last year, announced a massive new incentive program to move vehicles off dealers' lots.

The carmaker will begin marketing the incentive plans, called "Employee Pricing Plus," in ads on Monday.

Under the program, all 2008 and 2009 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles will be available at prices similar to those Chrysler employees pay -- typically thousands of dollars below the sticker price.

In addition, customers will receive discounts of up to $3,500 on 2009 vehicles and $6,000 on 2008 models.

The Dodge Sprinter work van is the only vehicle specifically excluded from the program, according to Chrysler's announcement."
