my doc sent me home from the ER when i first presented with stomach pain and asked, is it my appendix? noooo, it's just gas, go home with these suppositories.

30 hours later i was back, and the doc was all... ooh, s**t, you need a CT, (i was barely conscious from the pain). when i was in the CT machine, the doc told my parents who had come to chicago to be with me (3rd day of college), to gather the family because they didn't knwo if/how i would come out

read the surgery report, my appendix as lying on the back wall of my abdominal cavity with all the toxins/crap spilling out, and i was full of gangrene, they had to scoop me out like a pumpkin. had 2mm of flesh left where the appendix was, just enough to close it up instead of a colostomy.

cliffs notes: be thankful you are laying there comfortable and it hasn't gotten serious

Good Luck, hopefully you will have the same recovery people I had there. I had a really good experience there last week.

I only had one lady that was a bit of a PITA, she was just loud all night long. (Blood pressure lady) There were 2 or 3 nurses in recovery/second floor rooms that were cute

had mine out last year. No big deal. I was out of work for a week though. It hurts to move afterwards. Sleeping hurts. I have three small incision scars. Killed my modeling career though.

Good luck. It will be over quick. You will have to be on a clear liquid diet for the next morning. Then if that goes well, you can have solids.

Oh, and good luck pooping. It will hurt like hell cause your gut will be sore from surgery. Don't push too hard.

I had my appendix out a few years ago and it was pretty straight forward, besides the incredible amount of pain while I was waiting for the doctors to figure out what was wrong.

I actually started to feel better once I was at the hospital. When it first started I was not hungry at all but waiting in the ER room, Taco Bell commercials looked awesome.

Based on my symptoms they would have sent me home, but they did a CT scan and it was a little inflamed so they decided to remove it.
