Default MLK day is this right or wrong????

I have a problem with Martin Luther King Day in that I understand it to be representative of a celebration of civil rights in the United States of America, as such shouldn't it be called Civil Rights Day.

If I'm wrong than shouldn't we correct some other Holidays

Holidays and Observances:
Jan 1 New Year's Day Dick Clark Day
Jan 19 Martin Luther King Day
Feb 14 Valentine's Day Casinova Day
Feb 16 Presidents' Day George W Bush Day
Apr 12 Easter Sunday Jew's Killed Jesus Christ Day
May 25 Memorial Day George Patton Day
Jul 4 Independence Day Paul Revere Day
Sep 7 Labor Day John L Lewis Day
Oct 12 Columbus Day (Most regions)
Oct 31 Halloween Freddie Kruger Day
Nov 11 Veterans Day Mr Toes Little Brother Day
Nov 26 Thanksgiving Day Capt Smith Day
Dec 24 Christmas Eve Night before Jesus was born Day
Dec 25 Christmas Day Baby Jesus Day

Martin Luther King was not the only person involved in the Civil Rights Movement.

MLK Day is referred to by some as "Hebe Webe Day". He be dead, we be off.

Abe Lincoln didn't really rescue the slaves either, and George Washington didn't cut down the cherry tree, or confess to it either, but both have managed to insinuate themselves into pop-culture so pervasively that they are practically written into the history books.

CHRIST mas. You do realize that is a combination of Christ and mass, shortened from Christ's Mass? Also, Jesus was not born on Dec. 25.

It does bother me a little that it is the only holiday dedicated to a specific modern American.

Nice try but you need to study your history a little more. Captain Smith was one of the leaders of the Virginia Company that settled in Jamestown, VA. They, for the most part, had very poor relations with the Indians.

Thanksgiving originated with the Pilgrims in Massachussets.

Did civil rights originate with MLK.
