Default So I hit a deer

I was coming home from my CCW class today at the Linden sportsmans club. I was in the Toyota, so I have the nice poop pipe bumper on there.

I'm on Sharp road, doing about 35 and I see one in the road. It runs across the road, and I thought it was alone, and here comes another one right when I let off the brake.

I smacked it, probably only about 25 but I ran it over good.

I stop, get out and go give it a kick to see if its alive. Ofcoarse it is.

The guy who lived in the house right infront of where I hit it said his dad would come out and kill it. I told him "Well I have my pistol in the truck since I just came from CCW class, so if he doesnt want to do it I will have to I guess."

He comes out and says "Dad said if you have a pistol then just shoot the son of a bitch."

I put 3 .45's into its head before it died.

I kind of feel awful. I had no problem killing them when hunting but that just felt bad

Try smacking one with a framing hammer..... it's more upclose and personal

I wasnt carrying my knife or I would have. Kind of coincidental that I had my pistol the first time I ever hit a deer.

Should always remember when you see one, there's usually a couple more nearby.

I got a good look at the one that tried to run out in front of my semi once, it fell down trying to stop and I think it slid into the side of my truck, never even beaked.

Nah, I'm pretty sure the only tire I didnt run it over with was the spare. And I didnt much care to even try and gut it tonight after having been outside all day for the shooting part of my CPL course. I seriously doubt there would be much left that would be any good anyways.

Plus, I still got Elk steaks left from working on my neighbors car

I hit two at the same time a couple summers ago with me jeep. I backed over one of the deers heads. Wound up calling the cops for the second one because it was in the trees. The cop got called off a accident to put three rounds in the head (9mm) and said if you get stopped on the way home with the meat to call me. It would have been poaching to have the guy that lived there put it down.

The best it when you hit one with a 6500 chevy flatbed with a car on the back. I've only done that twice. It was like the biggest top I have ever seen. I got two bambies with my jeep and one with my sunfire. The best part is 3 of them were in one year. The only damage was to my sunfire and it only dented the fender that was already mangled from a previous accident.
