Default cross-country skiing

Anybody do it? I went tonight for ht e first time and really like it.

Anybody have old gear they no want?

go to salvation army, good will or something like that. They all have them for around 10-20 bucks a pair.

play it again sports / craigslist

wider skiis make a HUGE difference if you do a lot of powder, narrow for groomed trails

I do a bit. I have a bit of a wider Fischer ski for busting trail through woods or just going down trail that's been packed down with foot traffic. It's pretty cool being out in the woods at night with a full moon.

Before you buy anything second hand, find the manufacturer's sizing chart and make sure that the ski is appropriate for your weight. It does make a difference.

Week or so ago Salvation Army in Flint had a bunch of cross country skis. I was donating some stuff and was suprised at how many full sets they had..

I paid $1 to $3 a set with poles at salvation army, boots are hard to find second hand.
