I can see the headlines now. More deaths from lead poisoning due to imports from China.

A few things to ponder...

Once they register you as the particular purchaser of ammo, if some scumbag breaks into your home and steals it, and you maybe didn't realize it was gone, good chance they tie you to a crime with said ammo.

The whole coded ammo concept was patented from some yayhoos in Cali ( if I remember correctly ) and now they are trying to get the legislation passed to make a fortune off of it. Great idea: invent product + get gov't to make it mandatory = MEGAPROFIT!

Good thing for Obama that the economy was the big issue through all 3 debates. Didn't get any time for questions to be asked about any other issues. IE: gun ownership. Outcome might have been different if he had to answer on how he feels about everything else besides the economy. Great idea: Make opponent look bad + avoid all issues except 1 = win

Keyword YET.

The two reasons why I bought that M4.....fear mongering shot the value of my cetme through the roof, allowing me to sell it for double what I paid for it (thus giving me the cash needed for the bushy). And I figure I could turn around and do the same thing with this M4 if another ban actually comes into play.

For a while I believed they were passing gun control laws to "protect ourselves" from each other, as asinine as it seemed. But lately, I dont think they are trying to stop crime, but instead flat out disarm the majority.

There currently is a law in Keego Harbor prohibiting doing any mechanical work on your car, even on your property.

That type of ordinance is probably more common than you'd think. I bet most of us have been in violation working on our trucks.

The people in charge of the bullet matching already said we don't have the infrastructure to hold this data.

There are tons of guns that ammo is no longer made for so those people have to handload. Many MANY hunters load their own ammo for not only the price savings, but for high performance custom loads.

I cant remember the last time i bought pre loaded rounds for my hunting rifles. a box of high quality 7mm Remington magnum rounds goes for between 30-50 dollars depending on the load. if this went through i am willing to bet that price would double.

the question I have is, since this will apply to all ammo, how are they going to mark buckshot?

oh, and if you read it a little closer, the cost that will be added is $.005, so half of one penny per round...I know alot of places where it is posted, it says $.05 (five cents) but the actual bill states $.005...not that the financial cost is that big of a concern, compared to the other costs...
