Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009

It has already started...
Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammuniti on to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:
http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

Do they realize that the douchbags using the stolen guns are using stolen ammo? How are they going to track that? What about the poor bastard that has a box of bullets stolen but he doesn't realize it. When somebody pops one of his caps in someone elses ass he's going to be held accountable.

I see it passing in cali, on a lot of handguns already they are required to have a serial number on the firing pin, so this isnt that far off.

Come on and grab your ammo
What have you got to lose?
We'll all get liquored up
And shoot at anything that moves

Got a brand new semi-automatic weapon with a laser sight
Oh, I'm prayin' somebody tries to break in here tonight
I always keep a Magnum in my trunk
You better ask yourself, do you feel lucky, punk?

all i get out of reading that is a manf date be stamped or something on each round. and thus potentially reduce the amount of old/expired ammo from being in circulation.

I've witnessed 2 incidents of injury due to old ammo in use.

Obama and Biden are to two most anti-gun politicians to be elected.
I predict we will see worse than this soon.

from what i saw on tv about it which was more in depth they want to laser etch a serial number on each bullet so if a bullet was retrieved they could tell who bought it. it isnt going to be a big date on the case so you can tell how old it is.

the bullet or the casing? If it's on the bullet, wouldn't the rifling or impact pretty much destroy that bit of evidence? And who's to say the ammo isn't stolen? What are people that make their own ammo going to do? This seems like a wasted piece of legislation that will do nothing but raise the cost of ammo and perhaps destroy the home ammo making market. Perhaps that is the primary goal in the first place?
