I read this on PBB-- from K1, Badlands staff member 11/4/09:

As far as winches you will not need them next year. I will be working on the new rules for next year and dates. We are planning two of or Trec races next year to over lap with other races to make two very big race days next year. We will be one of the only locations in the country to be able to offer MotorCross racing, Cross country Atvs,Bikes Racing and Trec style racing all at one location all at one time.

Here's a link to cmk's Class B ZJ that won the dec race:

cmk\\\\\\\\\\'s TREC ZJ thread - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board

I actually put the thread together while trying to piece together what he was racing to see how tight they were to the rules package. You can see he wasn't running a winch and you can see what he stripped off.

As of right now, a friend and I are planning on getting out there in a B-class rig.

Bumping this since chevotass and liv2mx must have missed it the last time hosejockey bumped it.

Congrats to the Michigan teams running down at the Badlands. AlumCJ is points leader in A-class and jhnyquest is currently in 3rd place. Bones needs to stop talking about boats and tractors and attend more races.

Hosejockey is cleaning up in C-class with a big points lead.

The next race advances 10 people to KOH so it should be a huge race

Festival downtown friday, quad race saturday AM, then TREC and KOH qualifier saturday night.

hopefully people start bring there rigs out i miss the time we raced with 15 people.

also there is talk of opening up hydro steering and allowing it in b class to attract more trail rigs.

Rusty had a sub driver in the first race who endo'd it on the 1st lap and was only able to limp it back to the pits to finish the 1st lap and not DNF. Then skipping a race doesn't help.

Season points will level out at the end of the year when people start dropping races towards the best 5 of 7. Hosejockey should enjoy the 25pts for 2 1st places in a row, and the extra 35 points if he manages to run all 7.

other than being fun, I can't support TREC until they get a legit timing/scoring system...I've been screw twice by them and so have other people
