Default Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Course

Hi - I'm the new PA (Public Affairs) officer for the Division 12 - 12 flotilla St. Clair Shores.
Since the Boating Forum started, there have been a few inquiries regarding boating classes...

Our Boating Safely Course is starting on February 10th through April 21st.
Where: West Marine - 10 Mile and Jefferson, SCS MI
When: Tuesday nights from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Cost: $45 - This pays for your study materials.

In the past, West Marine would provide merchandise discounts to all attendees.

SilverDollar, are the courses only offered at Coast Guard stations? I'd like to take both the power and sailing courses, but I don't feel like driving to Bay City every weekend.

I think the TC station is only an Air Station, right?

mtnbikinbryno - Not all classes are at Stations. Our class is at the St. Clair Shores West Marine Store (about .5 miles away from the station).

I found Auxiliary flotillas (units) near TC. I attached their links below.
I would email the Flotilla Commander (FC) asking about the classes you wish to take.

If they can't help you or don't repond, try the US Power Squadron in TC. I've taken their class in Grosse Pointe - It was very good too.
