Default Grey Wolf Lodge in Traverse City

I won a couple nights at the Grey Wolf Lodge in Traverse City. How lame will the wife and I find this place if we don't have kids?

How far out of town is it?

I've never been there but it's not out of town. It's right near the mall.

And it's rather expensive. You can get great rates right now, suites in some of the hotels on the bay for 50% off which will still cost you less than half what great wolf will cost you.

X2. During the day I hit the slopes. In the evening we all headed to the pool park. Our room was just down the hall to the inside entrance of the place. My wife loved the european style spa

It's about 2 miles from downtown. Are you going to be able to do it in the summertime? Plenty to do in the area if you're bored at the lodge - Sleeping Bear, wine tasting, casino, golf, beach, hiking, or my personal favorite, bar hopping.

I would like to actually go in the winter and maybe try some skiing for the first time in that area (or maybe snow-shoeing on the Sleeping Bear Dunes if that is even plausible) but my wife is a CPA and at a new firm so I doubt she will be able to take much time off until May.

If we do end up going in the warmer weather, we will have no problem finding stuff to do.

Its right in town, the water park was ok for adults for a few hours or so. You could find a lot more to do around down rather than going to the water park.
