22RE running rich.
Alright, situation is, I sucked a little water into my motor. it studdered and I shut it down and did the normal routine. There was never any water in the oil,
Ever since then, it was running crazy rich. It feels powerless, I have to cruise in 3rd to keep the RPMs from dropping around 45-50 (on 33's and 4.10's.) When its idling, its around 800 but will slowly drop. When I press the gas to bring the RPM's back up, it hesitates, almost shuts down, but then revs.
What I've done.
I tested the AFM, it didnt test quite right so I replaced it. Its not as rich anymore, but still puffs a light cloud of black smoke at higher RPMs.
TPS tested alright, I think. It was kind of hard to do on my own but I got good values from most connections. I'm not all too sure how to adjust it if thats what could be causing the problem.
I've cleaned out the throttle body, all the black shit in there.
O2's been replaced.
The timing when I short the T and E circuit is 5* BTDC, but when its not shorted it drops to 12*. I dont think thats relavent but it doesnt seem right to me.
A few people I've talked to who have done the same thing said that the ECU was their problem. Two of them said they didnt even get their ECU in the water, but once they replaced it, it ran fine again. Can the computer fail without even getting in water? I water proofed mine by sealing it in a heavy duty bag, and put a vacuum on it. Its was still holding vacuum last time I looked.
I'd just borrow one but I dont know anybody with a Toyota to borrow an ECU from. lol
I've run out of ideas.
