I had a buddy offer me 140.00 for my Champion so it was a no brainer since Ironman was selling these for 297.00. I cant really complain about the old winch other than it was very slow. I should be tryin the new one this weekend.

Well my stock rear driveshaft finally took a dump on me so I got to build my first custom shaft today!

I took one of the three Explorer DS I have layin around and put a new u-joint on the end and took a 7.5 pinion flange yoke off my 88 Ranger to get it ready to bolt in.

I put the Ex t-case yoke on my output shaft and after I cut the shaft down 2.75" and re-welded it back up it went right in and works perfect.

Best part is I only have 9.00 into the whole shaft. I also already have a 8.8 flange and the combonation u-joint so when I put my 8.8 in a few weeks from now all I will have to do is swap those two parts on and my new shaft will still work.

BTW, I ended up keeping my old winch and made a removable winch plate for the tonque of my trailer.Turned out sweet as hell and I have already used it twice to move my 88 Ranger drag truck back and forth from a local shop.

No balance job yet. My 99 Ranger will be back on the road by the end of the week so the B2's days of daily driving will be done. I will be pulling all the drivetrain and axles out of it so I can drop in my EFI 5.0/C4,wire it,swap in my 4.56 locked D35 and install my 4.56 locked disc brake 8.8......chances are I will need to make two new shafts for this combo so when I do I will have them balanced.

Well today starts the next chapter........frickin trans lost its front pump seal on my way home from work today I am not putting another penny into this drivetrain. It gets parked today and will not move again until the next round of mods are done.

Sooooo, looks like the 96 Explorer disc brake 8.8 with 4.56 gears is going in first. Then the 4.56 gears and locker are going in the D35.

Im dropping my C4 off at trans shop next week for a go thru and conversion to 4wd. And my 87 5.0 is going on the stand for a few things.

Give me a couple months and it will be a totally different truck when it comes back out!

Hey Death,
I have a buddy that just bought a 89' BII Eddie Bauer Ed. last night - I would love to have you take a look at it and/or pick your brain about any low end mods to get a little larger tires on the Ford.
I live on Smith Rd near Telegraph and work closer to your house. Send me a PM so we can talk.

Wow, my old image hosting site is gone now!

After a long search I finally found what I was looking for. EB d44 w/4.56,warn hubs,Deaver coils, track bar, steering and Earls brake hoses.

With a few mods all this could be under my truck in a day but I am leaning heavily towards just going to some coilovers right off the bat.

I will be ripping the truck apart this week and will mock up the d44 to check the radius arm length. Im pretty sure they will need to lengthened to reach my drop brackets. And if I go thru all that I might as well ditch the bushings and put some good joints on the arms instead.

I welcome any input you guys have as this will be my first SAS.

Todays score.

Brand new King coilovers with 350/250lb coils.

I will be modifing my Duff dual shock hoop to work as my coilover mount.

Starting on everything asap. Motor and trans are coming out and I will be dropping in my 89 5.0 and c4 auto.

Are you going to keep the radius arms or upgrade to a 3-link?

Im going to keep the radius arms but lengthen them 8-10" and convert them to use a real joint on the end instead of bushings.
