Front end is almost done now.

Picked up some Skyjacker Softride 6" coils for a Jeep XJ.

I had to get new Jeep spring isolator pads since the XJ coils are not wound as tight on the bottom as a RBV coil.

Then I had to use some 1 1/2" plumbing fittings to make a new spring seat.

Here is how the new seat works without the pad installed yet.

And with the pads.

I also had to take the bottom plate that holds the bottom of the coil in place and build up its O.D. a bit with a few passes of my welder since it would pull right thru the bottom coil. Now the bottom is retained like the factory setup. For the top I took a 5/8 cable clamp and cut it into a J hook and then drilled a hole in the coil bucket for a solid way the make sure the top of the coil doesnt pop out at full droop.

Since these were 6" springs I had to cut 2 coils off to get the ride heigth where I wanted it.Nice thing is they sell different size isolator pads that I can use to fine tune the ride heigth in the future if I wish.

Going to get it aligned in a few and I will have them install my 4" drop pitman arm since my puller doesnt fit up into the frame for some reason.

I drove it around the block and holy **** does it ride soft now! Most people prlly wouldnt like it but I do. Its going flex alot better now. Next I will have to get longer shocks because the Duffs are about 1.5" to short to get full droop.

The rear is still a bit higher so I might try some thicker XJ coil spring isolator pads cuz I only used 3/4" Daystars.

They were wore out and sagging bad. In new condition thet have a 400lb spring rate which dont flex very good.I went with the XJ coils because they use a softer 240lb spring rate which flex way better.

Here is another view on how good it flexes now with all my new springs. This hole had to of been about 35-38 inches deep because it swallowed my 33" tire and the suspension drooped pretty good into it.The other three tires were still sitting on the ground.

Last weekend I went wheelin with some guys from NWOC club and we hit some Knarly obsticles that a few of the straight axle Jeeps had trouble dealing with and my truck didnt. I was on 3 wheels more four that day! So far I am very happy with my TTB setup. Once I get my locker in and clearance my axle shafts where the U-joints are I can go to a longer front shock and gain another few inches of travel, then I cant see any reason to ever ditch the TTB.

Finally got the truck sitting level with some 2" XJ coil spacers. Looks so much better to me.Fixed my camber also.

Here is the stock iso pad in my hand and the 2" on the truck already.

Now I just gotta clean it up a tad for BroncoRama!
