Default Manistee Forest trails

I see that the Forestry service is not going to release the maps of OHV trails for the Manistee National Forest until Fall of 2009. Is there someplace I can find out which trails are legal? I'm looking for legal trails between Whitecloud and Baldwin and East as far as Crystal Valley. Probably a , but I did a search and didn't find anything with much information.

The multi-county maps you find at gas stations have amazing detail incl the two tracks.
the forest trails with the 4 digit stakes are legal. stay away from power/gas lines, anything stumped/bermed off or a no vehicle stake

Thanks Upchuck!
Most of the trails I run around Bitely start out as marked trails, but when you get into the woods they split into a dozen different trails that may or may not be legal. My assumption so far has been that if they arn't blocked they're legal, but from the sound of some of the comments I've seen on other threads, this might not be the case.

General rule from the forestry is to stay on the marked trail.

any 2 track unless blocked or marked no access is legal for a license vehicle.except most powerlines.you will have a hard time now though ,we have 3 to 4 foot of snow in the woods.

That blows, I was hoping to get out in the woods over the Christmas holiday. And you and Rubiclone are a couple people that I wanted to hook up with, since you both wheel that area. Sounds like it will have to wait until Spring.
