Default Replacement Windows, who did you use?

I am getting quotes right now. I am sick of my house being cold, and I know that the 1930's windows do not help. Also, the wood is starting to rot. Who did you use? Who would you stay away from?

Check with cvwindows (Clear Vision Windows) on this site. I've met him once and talked to him several times, real stand up guy, very eager to help.

4 years ago I needed windows, siding and a roof. wanted it all done at once so we used hansons. they were right in the middle of the pricing pack out of the 5 estimates we got. everything is still fine and have been happy with all of it.

We used Wallside. Pretty reasonable. Quick installation but had to wait a few weeks for them to make the windows

if you have a company do it go with one of the companies that does fiberglass windows like majic. Fiberglass windows are well worth the money.

I did my own, they were decent, no complaints.

I need to get nice ones for this house, got these stupid aluminum frame ones from the 70s.

I soooooooo need to do mine, just need the $$$$

1970's house, all single pane glass, wood frame, and 50% of the storm windows are missing, and the ones in place dont fully seal.

I've use the shrink wrap plastic on all the windows, the rooms we dont really use also have 1"+ of extruded foam against the glass and then the plastic, and we still get condensation/ drafts.

my bathroom window has over 1/2" of ice on the inside currently. I feel your pain

if your gonna go with fiberglass check out performance window

if your going with vinyl check out first choice. I think they are still having a special with any window and siding or roof sale over a certain amount you get 5" free of cellulose or something like that. I'm not too sure on the details i just install

We did my dads house our selves a few years ago. He saved $125/ window on installation and once we had it down it took about 20 minutes to do each window. We did 35 windows in his house, so the cost savings was worth it. He decided to order Andersen windows; well worth it.
