Default For those who can't do for themselves...

It's a tough time...Bell ringers are hoping for donations to help the people who have fell on Hard Times.. Food banks are receiving less then years past...... But what about the ones who can't really do for themselves???????

So this year....instead of doing and donating to those who CAN help themselves..I wanted to help the ones who give unconditional Love and Happiness.....The ones who are often forgot and some who had to be sacrificed for Hard Times...and taken to shelters....

Saturday Dave and I went to Sam's Club and pick up a few Donations for the Humane Society so those who really have a dim outlook might be around a bit longer to Give that Unconditional Love. Maybe you can do a little too.... ( not as much as we did.but every little bit helps ) It made us feel really good !

we adopted another dog yesterday and made an additional donation. :)

For all you weenies out there that might have the extra cash to spare, it is also tax deductible.

I helped an old neighbor lady put in a new programmable thermostat yesterday.
After I plowed her driveway, swept off her car, and shoveled her steps.
Guess I should have taken pics of it, and posted them on the net, so I could have gotten my back E-patted ??

Ed, with all due respect, go sit on a shampoo bottle. Karen is trying to remind some of us that people aren't the only ones that need help.

Oh, I get the point, animals cannot help themselves.
Just seems a little "odd" to take pics, and post them up.
Seems to me, like someone needs to feel special. I know I do.

Have you ever met Karen? She's the salt of the earth. "Good folk" you might say. All she did was post up another idea of how to give back a little. She's also the person who organized the toys for tots last year at OSTC.

I also applaud you for helping the neighbor lady. Many of us have helped out in different ways and in most cases I suspect it never makes it to the internet. But, when somebody comes up with a unique suggestion, there's nothing but good when they post it up to remind us.

Anyway, to ALL you good hearted souls out there......... Merry Christmas.

Addition hunting seasons = no pet overpopulation!!!!!

Check out the KItty Kapitol Punishment thread and find kitty a good home before the execution date.

P.S. animals do fine on their own, problems arise when we interfere.

"( not as much as we did.but every little bit helps ) It made us feel really good !"

That is the part that roped me in. And WR, as far as "the salt of the earth", I'll take HER word for it.
Toys for tots is a huge waste of time. It is a program designed to make guilty people feel "good", maybe even "really good".
Ever seen the warehouses, where the toys for tots people store their toys? More things get thrown away, than actually get delivered to the kids. The brother in law is a Marine, he used to get all of his kid's Christmas presents out of the dumpster, after TFT dumped them.

I'd be interested in learning more about that - like perhaps the toys thrown away are not new or in packaging? I cannot believe they'd get thrown out otherwise.

Default The ultimate back-pat picture

Holy cripes, this picture is so stereotypical, it is a classic. They have combined the two biggest "look at ME" groups in one shot. Betcha I can find a shot of the Roscommon firemens parade, with some toys for tots reference.

I'm so inspired, Ed go fukc yourself????? Assholes like you?????

I rewrote your post see what you think:

Ed the purpose of the post was to try to get people motivated to be the best they can. A lot of people are having it rough, but being the type of people we are in this Country we can still sinch down our boot laces and help all the way down to animals.
I'm not looking for a pat on the back just trying to walk the talk.

P.S. Toes has a kitten that needs a good home (see the Kitty Kapitol Punishment thread)

Would you believe that I spent 5 hours yesterday, making pancakes for "Breakfast with Santa", at the American Legion ?

Karen, were you fired for your spelling, or your attitude ?

You obviously don't know how much of a dumbass your posts are making you out to look like in this thread. Karen is probably the least likely person on this board to blow her own horn for recognition. However, she is probably the most likely to go out of her way to help anyone in need. Shut up while you are behind...

Special Ed: Damn dude, lay off the lady. She did a really good thing and just wanted to present an idea. With all the really shitty posts on this site and people flamming each other over really stupid stuff, why soil this thread. You are a good guy for helping your neighbor. I have some older people I (well, mostly my wife) take care of just a few houses down from us. I understand your position of just trying to help somebody out.

Ed, here is your chance to flame me: I don't like giving to most charities because I feel most of the people taking advantage of them are lazy scum. I know a percentage of people receiving them are honest good people are just down on their luck and need alittle boost, the other majority are just lazy douche bags that wouldn't get off the couch it you set it on fire.

I think with the continued economic down turn we are going to see more people that need alittle boost here and there. Most of these people will figure out a way to survive and recover (I hope).

To all the people that like me: Merry Christmas!

To all the people that DON'T like me: Merry Christmas to you too ya bastards!
