I still have not seen an answer to a question waaaayyy back on page 2 or 3...if a new visitor to the park is required to sit through JeepSkool, and the Skool is geared to instruct the newbies that the park caters to on safe wheeling, please tell me the qualifications of the instructors? Are they UFWDA trained 4wd awareness instructors, trained by the Ohio DNR, or just someone hired because someone thought they had the right skills?
OK Paul, I'll chime back in just for you.

From what I have gathered from the alter ego postings, everyone must take a class and Robocon was not interested in seeing how anyone else would do it so I'm sure the classes are tailored "his" way.

Back when I joined his site over a year ago, the discussions for classes was talking about things like air pressures, hi-lift jacks, winches and a bunch of other stuff. When I said they were fooling themselves if they thought they could teach it in a half hour, that instead it would take 4 or more hours, my posts were deleted. When I questioned it, I was told I was not the kind of person they wanted at their park.

So, I'm sure there is no way he would think that ANYBODY could do it better than him.

I poked around on the jeepskool forums a year or so ago too when it first came up, but I have not been back since. If it's 10 minutes of park rules and 10 minutes of "The Top Ten Offroad Mistakes Not To Make" I guess the qualifications of the instructors would be moot, since they can't accomplish anything in that short time frame. I was always under the impression that it was something more significant than that, like a couple of hours.

Paragon had a 15 minute movie on mostly the park and just a reminder to use safe practices when recovering vehicles or in bad situations. I'd have no problem listening to a video to get familiar with the park's rules and functions. If it's more then that, it's a waste of time.

We cater to the new Jeeper. We are not a hardcore place to keep you on your lid all day. We are a clean, non-confrontational group of family friendly people. We welcome new people to ask questions to our members without the fear of the typical verbal bashing common on most BB today. We will remain a safe place for kids to view our site and it's content. Something our members requested. I will continue to respect their wishes.

If you visit our board, please respect our policies. I will return the same respect to you and yours.

PS
I assure you that I have nothing to sell you beside a JeepSkool T-shirt or hoodie.

GL4X4,

The above quote was from page two of this thread. The bolded large type still holds true for us at JeepSkool. We are always happy to help those with respectful questions and will reply in kind.

What this thread has become, is the joke of some kids on the internet stirring the ill willed pot with out of context quotes and partial truths. And a few GL4X4's members to willing to express their dislike of something new. So be it.

I will not take the bait and reply with/to the hype and rumors that are rampant on the internet. They are laughable at best.

This post is in no means an attempt to save face or cure what the next 50 post will bring. Just stating the fact that we enjoy the peace of a non-confrontational, kid and library safe internet on OUR JeepSkool forum. You are welcome to join us or not. You will be treated with respect and your family will enjoy thier stay as well.

My post on page 6 still stands true. I would be happy to answer any respectful questions you may have. I can be reach by PM on JeepSkool or by E-mail at Robocon@JeepSkool.com

So, is your post on page 5 still hold true, too?

Or, you could actually come down and see what all the hub-bub is about. Because so far, NOT one of you have been to JS. Just standing on the sidelines pissin' and moanin' about NOTHING.

Oh yeah, we added a new "Connectivity fee" just like the phone company. And an up charge fee for all yellow rigs. Also a 50 cent charge for all the stickers on your rig. Plus a fee for running stock axles. Plus I get to inspect ALL vehicles and I charge for this service too. If you pay for all of these fees, I will then proceed to tell you how to wheel-N/C, my pleasure. But you will have to pay to leave the property. But be careful, the state charges a fee to use the road.

Have a great day ladies,

Better yet, I would like to hear what percent of people that have gone will be going back?

When I see "We cater to the new Jeeper. We are not a hardcore place to keep you on your lid all day" and the fact that I might have to pay $500 to have myself recovered I don't think I'll go back. Why not cater to all Jeepers new or not? I can't see your place ever becoming "Americas Premiere Off Road Park" like you have stated.
How ever did you get Ultimate Adventure to your place if you're not "Hard Core"?

PLEASE! I want to be convinced to go back so please sell me on coming back. This place is close enough for our club to go a few times a year but I'm not sold on spending money at Jeep Skool right now.

BTW - These are respectful questions so I would hope you take the time to answer then if you ever want to grow as a ORP and as a Man.

hey guys, just wanted to report as a guy who used to visit jeepskool. First off i have been to jeepskool multiple times. I started going there when i had a stock s10 blazer with 31's and a rear locker. tons of fun for me, now after a year or so im locked front and rear with a sas on the blazer and 35's. I have been there through all the price increases from 20 bux all weekend to 30+ 5 for each passenger + 10 for camping + 15 for electric for camping and i hear the next fee is going to be 10 for blowing your nose there. lol just joking. There are a few nice obsticals for locked rigs on 35's but dont expect to play all day. There are a few trails that i cannot and will not complete(because of garented body damage). As for chris i know him and he is a good guy. I was actually pissed when he joined the dark side.his dad and I gave chris a good verbal ass kicking the weekend when we found out what he did. I completly dissagree with the way kelly runs the place and his fees. He is also very disrespectful on a lot of websites. My take on the place is if you have a few mods that you want to test and your not too far away it will be an ok time, but there are better places for the price if your only going for offroading. Hope i helped

edit. as for the "skool" wheni went last jan 09 it was mostly proper recovery technics and property rules. It lasted 45 min to an hour.

just so you know this is me and no i dont work there.

Thanks Billaksblaser, it is good to hear from someone that has actually been there. Did they inform the customers of the mandatory $500 recovery fee during skool?
