Default Xmas: The Crabby Employee Season? WTF!

So l am beginning to think that xmas is quickly becoming the season for workers to get insanely crabby about stupid shit.

About a month ago we set up our company xmas party down at coach insignia atop the ren-cen. we were there for the xmas party 2 years ago had a good time and decided to go back. everyone knew where the party was and that it was on dec 16 (yesterday) and since everyone agreed we figured all was good.

Last week some workers began complaining about the location and how it was bullshit that they had to drive downtown (ghey). I figured they were having a bad day and dismissed the complaints. Well the complaining kept up and then they starting whining that it wasn't fair that they "couldn't" attend the party because of location and that there should be a solution.

this just pissed me off

to get to the root of the issue I asked what the issue was with the location and they said that they easily got lost downtown and didn't want to drive down there. to offer a solution to the problem I offered to provide a FREE ride to and from the party for those who didn't want to drive downtown.
Now with their excuse gone they start to bitch about holiday time off. I am like wtf is the problem you get 10 days off, 6 of those are weekdays and you get paid.

if you don't like it find another job.

end rant

xmas partys are a privilage, not a right. if they want to have a xmas party that is closer to them, they can host it.

At least they get to go. I used to work for a company that had there christmas party on Fri. night. I worked night shift so it any one on that shift wanted to go we had to use vacation time for the night off. If you had no vacation time left to bad . Than to make it better they gave away door prizes but you had to be present to win. I am pretty sure that they catered to the day shift.

Gee, who would have thought that living in an area with ZERO business would mean bad economic times?
