Oh, yes, because Toyota, Honda and Nissan with their whopping 80,000 some US employees equals the Detroit Three's 1/4 million employees.

Haven't you seen that Toyota and Honda are starting to have some financial issues as well in the US? Many of the suppliers to the Detroit Three will be affected, and many of those also supply to Toyota and Honda as well. It won't be pretty for them either.

Until they have as many employees and have sold as many cars in this country as Ford, GM and Chrysler, they will never be the Big Three.

I'm happy YOU NOW understand why gm/chrysler/ford can't make money!

At least you now get it.

It wasn't that long ago that Nissan was nearly bankrupt.

It's also obvious that the Asian's recognize the significance of the impact of a Detroit bankruptcy, as their markets went in the shitter after that roll call election - seems they also realize that their state-side operations will be significantly impacted when the suppliers start tumbling after the Big 3 stops paying bills whilst in bankruptcy reorganization...

without a supplier base, and without captive financing, Toyota, Honda and Nissan can't make money either here in the US...

Why can't they make money? Because they have more employees? That makes no sense. Honda/Toyota/Nissan have more employees out of the States.

it doesnt matter, the new big three will be whoever is highest and sales, and unfortuneately, being a die hard GM guy all my life, if gm and ford and chrysler fail, they will be the new big three. if ford could just tuck its tail and run, and leave gm and chrysler standing, id be happy.

Ohhhh, so they aren't making money because they aren't sending all of their profits back to Japan and sporting 70% Japanese labor to produce the product.

So when 1,000,000 more jobs disappear and we start supporting Japan 100%, how is anyone going to make any money with nobody to sell to that has a job?

They'll go sell generators.
