BTT

For all who are interested, There are now 2 different classes for the event.

There is the normal "modified" class like there has been for the last 2 years
35" ~ 40" in Tires
With 50% Frame & Body

And this year there is an "unlimited" class for the tube chassis rigs, rigs with 40"+ tires, etc

As far as competitions go, this is the cheapest one around, and everyone is there to have fun.

I assume I'll be at the Bear Tracks again in my trailer at the end of the place.

This is assuming I get it. If I don't, I'm going to Harlan.

shit we can make metal straps for that easy! let me know if your going i'll see what I can do to help get the truck ready.

roll cage might be tricky to get done in that time but its possible to do!

chevotass,
Yes the TRRC is still happening. We have quite a few entries, but would still like more. It seems people just aren't hyping about it because it's not a brand new event, even though the TRRC is the ORIGINAL extreme truck challenge.
Been curious myself why the interest hasn't been as high this year considering the magazine coverage and success of the event for the past years. Everyone that has been to or in the event has really enjoyed it. There is something about taking that ride across the water on the ferry and stepping onto the island. It's like stepping into another world. Tell you what...... I never sleep as good as I do on Drummond. Funny thing is I can wake up at the butt crack of dawn, morning sun shining in my eyes, and feel completely refreshed......even if it was only 5 hours of sleep. The island has mystical powers!

Don't forget people, the TRRC has cash payouts for top finishers. Last year was worth a few hundred $$$$$$. We also put lots of goodies in the hands of competitors. On top of that, you get to wheel a whole island, if you want, not just the park.

I think everyone is waiting for their tax return. Yeah, that's it, tax returns. Or, maybe everyone waiting for that potential "tax credit-traveling expense-wheeler fund-I don't need to work for money given to me by the government because I don't pay my bills" stimulus money from the $800 BILLION that all of us will likely never see. Maybe.

I know a lot of guys rolling 33" tires... does this really preclude them?

good to hear its still going grizzy. i had to make a choice on which "extreme" event to try out for this year due to VERY limited wheeling funds. looking forward to heading back to drummond for a good day of competition and the rest of the weekend wheeling the island.
