Default Ski/Snowboard helmet question

I was just told that it is now illegal to ski or snowboard in Michigan without a helmet. Is this true? If so, I am cancelling my trip to Boyne in Feb.

hahahahahahhaha

you're kidding me right? I just went last week, and I wore a helmet, and must people do, but it isn't a law.

It has became fashionably in.

The guy that sits next to me was turned away from Alpine on Friday. He didn't have a helmet and they told him it was a new Michigan law.

It might be because Alpine has upped their security to stupid levels to keep their insurance after the boy being run over by a snow patrol snowmobile there last year.

I took three minutes to call alpine, and the manager told me that your friend is full of shit. Literally, he said "That guy is full of shit, we don't turn away customers for not having helmets"

The first hint was the guy on their website wasn't wearing a helmet.

The only time I've ever seen helmets required is in a terrain park or heavily treed glade area.

I once got escorted out of the ski hill for going "upside down" in the air. Apparantly you are nto supposed to do flip tricks anymore....that was 5 years ago before I became old and afraid to jump.

Never heard any such helmet law.
