Default newb from jackson

hello everyone, i am nick from the jackson area. I have been racing motocross and offroading for a long time. I have always had trucks to haul the bikes around and took them out to silver lake but that really is not all that challenging. Started going to the mounds with my buddy in his jeep and that got me hooked. so here i am. i thought about getting a jeep but i think i would rather turn my big 3/4 ton ram with the v-10 into my trail and work rig. I figured it would be a good start with the d-60 front and d-70 rear. have lots of stuff planned and will keep everyone posted on the build as it goes along. my daily driver is an 08 1500 4x4 ram.
talk to you all later!

Welcome..Nice truck I'd save it for a tow rig and buy or build some thing else.
Then you can beat the snot out of it and not have to worry about breaken it
and getting to work or around more fun that way.Just my 2 cents.

oh yeah, the blue truck is staying stock as my daily driver and tow rig for the bikes/toy hauler/ big truck. i have a black half rusted out 98 2500hd to build up. the bed and front fenders are coming off because they are trashed and half rusted out after driving it last winter. I run a fabricating company and have all the equipment i need to build all the things i want done too it. the cab is still good so i want to rhino line from the body line down and put fiberglass flaired fenders on the front. then build a custom flat bed, roof rack, bumpers and exo cage that is all linked togeather. then i will probably go with a mild lift and decent sized tires and air lockers to finish it off. its going to be a long build because i don't have a whole lot a spare time.

Welcome!!!

Sounds like a good plan for the 2500. Other than I would not do fiberglass fenders. If you plan to EXO Cage it then I would just fab up something if you want a fender. Fiberglass won't last but a few trips to the trails.... if that.

Just my $0.02.
Welcome again. Oh, and I'm from J-town as well.

Sounds good to me. I think full size rigs all beat to hell are awsome. I am in Manitou Beach. Give me a call if you want help.

What type of fabricating company do you have?

its just a typical job shop. we do mostly hydraulic tanks, drip pans, platforms, and machine guarding. We don't really have tube bending equipment at my shop but i can go down the road to are partner company that builds hydraulic units to use their tubing bender. We have a cnc plasma cutter and a junk press break. i also have all the basic fab tools and a big garage at home. now i just need to find the time to start working on my rig. i may end up buying one of the many hoopty cherokees around here to wheel untill i can do the work to my big toy.

I have my motocross practice track in the back yard but its all a bunch up big jumps and whoops. Not much fun in a truck or jeep. there are a few places to go but i imagine they are not legal and i don't plan to press my luck past the initial time i have run across them.

Default Locations..

Yeah I would'nt push it either, I Just wonder if there are some people that have 20+ acres of woods with trails that they are willing to let a few ppl play on if we sign liability waivers and don't mess it up. I know of a few mud bog places like I discribe but I dont care for that kind of wheeling.
