probably nothing, the bucket itself is pretty damn heavy.

I don't think it's as heavy as the massive engine in the back. I'm sure there is some serious weight in it.

It's called physics

The engine might be heavy, but the engine isn't on the end of a boom 20 feet off the ground either.

ever driven anything like this before?

the bucket itself is extremely heavy, probably as heavy, if not heavier than the engine, also, the arms the hold the bucket up are like 3" thick. these machines are heavy. But with that bucket up in the air like that, its really easy for the rear end to come up, I've done it before, not like that, i wasn't trying to do it like that. But i imagine its not hard to get the rear end off the ground.

The center of gravity is the front wheels. The rear of the engine is out as far as the end of the bucket.

you'd think that, the engine is actualy a bit closer to the cab than the hood makes it appear, the radiator sits at the very back of the engine compartment, behind that is the intercooler, (or the other way around) and behind that is the fan, then its the motor (mounted in reverse) all the acessories driven from the motor, then the actual engine is there.

defiantely weight in the bucket. That looks like a 3 yard loader or so. Back end of ours was planted even with 10k lbs in the bucket.
