my advice is sell it to someone who will restore it, and put the money towards a different truck, or parts for a truck you already have

24,000 total WC's (56/57/58) were made for WWII and maybe a couple hundred still exist in the world.

thats the only thing that i'm worried about if we do the small block. thats why i'd like to find a shitty dodge truck of this year not a military vehicle with the history behind it

Sweet truck but I would definitely sell it to someone who will restore it properly if you don't. Don't hack it up and do a small block, etc, you will ruin it's value.

Leave it original or restore it. I have dealt with rare antique tractors and finding an unmolested original to restore is a very incommon thing.

If he has the crazy ass idea to sell it for $1500 cash please PM me

As said very rare, talk him out of it, and sell it on ebay. It would likely pay for a large chunk of your college education.

Default Don't Hack That Up!!!!!!!

That is truly a unique piece of history you got there and it would be absolutely a crime to hack it up for a mud vehicle. You could sell it for big bucks and build something you really want! Go poke around in a few military sites and post some pics and you'll get the idea. I actually joined up on this site for the sole purpose of trying to save this rig from a 350 Chevy swap or any other hack job. It's survived from the '40's until now it would be a crime to kill it for a small amount of enjoyment that you could get from something else. Your extremely lucky to stumble onto that find!!! Either profit from it and build what you want, or restore it yourself. Congratulations your a lucky man!

Don't modify that or cut it up. I may be interested in purchasing it as well if it were to come up for sale.

i'll definitely put it up on here for ya guys if we ever decide to sell it but as of right now it's an extremely useful truck out to the camp because of the winch! we seem to get in all kind of stupid situations

Please do not modify. Even if you don't restore, don't hack it up. It is too cool of a vehicle, even without the history. Can't believe it is even being considered. if it is only worth 10k the way it is that would still buy or build one hell of a trail rig. Winch and all.
