Thumbs up 1941 Dodge Powerwagon "The Recon"

Here's the newest member of the camp beaters. We picked this truck up for 600 bucks a year ago put a battery, spark plugs, and new wires and it runs and drives all year long no problem. The truck is pretty much indestructible mechanically. Any ideas to make this thing even better?

Sell it to a restorer of military vehicles or restore it. That is a WC-57 Command Car. They are rare and go for $30-40k restored. I have seen a couple in that condition sell for more than enough money to get you a very nice trail 4x4. Please don't cut it up or destroy it, you have a very rare piece of U.S. Military history there.

24,000 total WC's (56/57/58) were made for WWII and maybe a couple hundred still exist in the world.

I bet it is rare, getting money for it would propably be the best thing. But if you are going to do anything with it, first get some good tires, those old military tires suck. Getting rid of the old military tires was one of the best things my brother ever did to his duece and a half.

yup it originally came from a military base in northern Michigan i am told, we have already been offered 5 grand but it has a special meaning to my dad so it'll be around for years to come we're having trouble finding all the original parts for it is the only thing the body has been pretty well beat, the only thing is that i believe its actually a WC24 but i could be wrong there was a lot of different models made does anybody know who else has got one of these things?

my dad has a 52 but its a truck not a command car.. If its a special meaning to your dad I would take the time to restore it because evenif its beat and look like swiss cheese when the bondo is removed its better to clean it up/restore it to its original status cause its worth it. just my .02

I followed the links and although, it looks similar to a command car, it's not the same. it looks like someone turned a truck into a command car. Look at the rear wheel wells and door openings. The hood is substantially different too.

So it's a command car just a different one. Whatever it is it's unique!

Didn't pay any attention to the rounded hood at first, yours is actually a WC-7 or WC-24 depending on the serial number. Still very rare and valuable

Lots of nice pics of various CC's the last is a WC-7:
