no rust virginia and garage kept, and if he drove it gentile enough it still has orginal brakes .... i would wager a bet it will be one of the cleanest '94 YJ in michigan. 122,000 miles is not allot of miles on a 4.0 (if that was a concern for you ..... 4.0 is a very long living motor) , especially since this guy sounds like the anal type and i bet he did maintanence RIGHT as it was specified in manual. Very good deal. Fair price get it !

I'm a skeptic, so I'd say fair price, but not a smoking deal. (without knowing the condition of the rest of the mechanicals)

It'd be a better deal with the hard top/AC.

as for the maintenance, I'm not so sure - I'd be willing to bet that it needs some attention on things like u-joints, balljoints, and all the other junk on the axles/driveshafts that tends to plague older jeeps.

if it's on the original brakes, I'd bet that all that junk is original as well, and likely in need of some attention.

have someone more knowledgeable than I with respect to jeeps and their drivetrains physically inspect it.

My '92 YJ was garage kept, and had many receipts for maintenance work, owned by a GM Mechanic (he worked too much overtime to do the work himself)

when I got rear ended (just broke a leaf spring) all sorts of deferred maintenance was discovered...

buy it and than you'll run into tons of money problems like the rest of use with jeeps/trucks haha.

I had got my 88 yj with the 4.2L for around 3k .... seems like the one you are looking at is in farrr better shape than what mine was. GET IT!

been out of the used car loop or Jeep loop. if it's clean and no major noises, never been lifted. I might go $3000-3500 but not what there asking it is a '94,
it's over 10 yrs old. they were only like $9-12K brand new.

I agree. I think its high for a 12 year old vehicle without a hardtop, no A/C, and no OD.

Sounds like a decent deal to me... but yank a wheel and inspect the brakes, my 1994 YJ had 118k on it when I bought it, all Highway back and forth to Iowa and when I test drove it there was no pulling or chirping but the front rotors were VERY thin, grooved and the brakes were shot. There drums were original, I am assuming the front disks were as well.

As with all 4x4's it probably will need u-joints in the next 20-50k miles depending on how well it was taken care of.... Mine didnt need any changed till I hit 175k... and the axle u-joints went at 184k IIRC

for a rust free 94 though that doesnt sound bad.

I have been hitting dealerships lately -- there is a 4 banger 94 in Owosso for 5995 and its a 4 popper and no where near mint (they are dreaming and I told them that)... I payed 5,700 in 2000 for my '94

Thumbs up Get A Mechanic To Look At It

I Would Still Get A Mechanic To Look At It.
Should Only Be $20 To $40.
It's Worth The Investment.

What he said. You can always talke them down if they really want to sell it. Never hurts to offer low. Never know they might take it.
