XJ with NO heat... any ideas?

2001, blower on, knob cranked into the red, NO heat! WIfe is pissed, especially this morning. Stuck thermo? Thanks in advance...

Check coolant level.
Check heater hoses w/engine @ operating temp..
Are they both hot?
If they arre it is a door/control problem.
If they are not it is a fluid flow problem (low coolant level/low coolant temp./ restricted heater core).

is there a temp gauge on the dash? Does it stay on cold, or move up to a normal operating area?

Yeh, I picked it up and... NO heat. It is Nice, I think I like it more than my black one. I might keep it... I will show you the pics when I come over.

I will check all of the suggestions. It only has 45000 on her. I bought it to sell, it came fromTexas. So, I want to fix the odds and ends and post in on Auto Trader. Thanks for the info, all of you...

I would defenetly think Tstat then... It could have been stuck open for years down there and no onewould have really noticed... they might have even pulled it completely.

check coolant level first. low coolant will make it not have heat and would also cause overheating if low enough. one main concern i'd have is a cracked head. seen a few 4.0's with cracked heads or blown head gaskets. not a bad enough leak to cause it to run like crap but the engine would pump air into the coolant and force it out of the overflow. heater core is pretty high in the system so thats where the air would go in the system.
