Default Paint

I have a new fender and hood on my truck and it needs to be painted before winter. I'm getting a good paint job on the whole truck this spring so I just wanted to spray paint the parts real quick before the salt starts. What kind of spray paint is good to use on cars? Enamel? Clear coat over it?

Base Coat / Clear Coat? If the black e-coat's still on it I'd just leave it there. It ain't the most pretty thing but it'll last.

One of the local auto parts stores around here can match any paint color and have it put into a spray can, it turns out great. Might want to look into any stores with a good paint department in your area. Just put a clear coat over it to protect it.

X2....primer can actually draw moisture in....I would also say leave the black e-coat, as long as you intend to get it painted in the spring...

Also if you spray with cheap spray paint now . You may have to pay extra to have it stripped off in the spring.

How much would you do that for? Also I don't want a really good paint job because I'm going to repaint the whole truck this spring. Unless you could do that too?

I wonder if either of them are professional or just spray in their garages. Haha. I might be able to grab a quote if your closer to Walled Lake. Side job done professionally (not me, my former co-worker).

relax, not knockin ya for anything. plus there was nothing about a 'free paint job'. he says he's getting it fully painted and you never specified how much or what you would paint. wasn't trying to get all technical or make you look like crap. hell i'd help out, i've got nothin better to do.

hell i'd help him out for free too, but with a garage full of lawn mowers and other shit I can barely fit a 1/3 of my cherokee in it.

Default vinyl wrap?

Has anyone tried the printed vinyl wrap on a Jeep? I am looking to do something fun on a CJ5 to run around town in. Nothing else we have has enough non-beat up steel left on it. I watched the West Coast Customs guys wrap a car last week as fast as the stuff rolled off the printer. Kathryn
