Default mufflers the good bad and obnoxious

looking for muffler recommendations. i have 40 series flow masters on my S-10 and they sounded good when i first put them on there now the truck gives me a headache. want it to sound good but reduce the noise level. what are some better options that are resonabbly priced?

I got 2 flowmasters on my yj sick of sound of it.
Going with warlocks love the sound of them and
I can uncap them for silver lake and mud bogs
and have them rumble.$75.00 for one not to cheap.

I have a v-force muffler on my dodge with a 318 and I've got plenty of compliments about how good it sounds and you can't really hear it in the cab unless you're really stepping into it

any of the other flowmaster would be better. the 40 is the loudest they have (except the race series, like the 30)

a series 50 is much quieter than a 40 series.

Edelbrock, they sound awesome as hell and the interior noise is not near as bad as a flow...

A good read for anyone considering flowmasters.

Magnaflows are propobly your best bet for power with less noise. I'll bet you the cost of putting an H pipe 2-3' behind the collectors you will be again happy with the sound though.

And run Flowmasters? I like the sound, but there are WAY better performing mufflers these days than those.
Personally, I run Dynomax Ultra Flo's. Great flowing muffler that's actually pretty quiet.

+1 Dynomax ultra flo 3" center 21"'s under my truck but I had to add an H pipe to take the edge off.

I have dual flow 40s on my Scaottsdale ran all way to bumper. Not really load till you harp on it. Also have a magnaflow on my 318 dakota with no cat sounds great and not that loud. Just gotta get the offset inlet and outlet so it soaks up more sound.
