87-95 YJ- A work in progress
Over summer break from college i decided to build a YJ, instead of buying a Jeep and oweing money on it. I bought 4 YJs anywhere from 87-95 and build one. It has the 2.5 4cyl with AX5. I did a full rebuild of the motor. The frame had I6 258 in it so i had to cut the mounts, relocate, and reweld. everything turned out great. i put a rough country 4.5 spring lift. open diffs for now. i plan on putting aussie or spartan lockers in front and rear axles. and upgrade parts as they break. I am going to put a boomerang shackle lift and hopefully be able to clear 34x9.50 swampers with "street locks". i also thought about trying the inner air locks. anyone have experience with those? The tub is in okay condition, but i am looking for one that is mostly rust free with good body mounts. It is a work in progress, but will soon get better and get parts in. This is my first Jeep and build, so if anyone has advice on what to do or any ideas of stuff to do, please let me know!
