Default SLR users: Do you still carry a P&S camera?

I've been wanting to get a DSLR camera for a while now, I just don't know if I'll use it enough as I'd like. It's not that I wouldn't like using it, it's more that it seems like it could be a hassle to lug around at times. Most of the times I'm taking pictures its because I'm out doing other activities, instead of just being on a 'photo safari'.

Do you guys still find yourself opting for a compact camera to take along a lot of the time just for the convenience factor?

I use my old P&S camera when I can't really justify risking the D40 - mountainbiking/dirtbiking etc

Yes. I has a couple of point and shoots, one film and one digital for when I don't want to lug around the SLR's.

I usually take my p&S when i dont want to risk breaking my DSLR,

Although when i go snowmobiling and Offroading, i tend to take my DSLR on a short trip just to get some really high quality photos

Ended up buying a Nikon D60, should be here by the end of the week. I'm pretty pumped, hopefully there will still be some fall colors around to break it in on.
