Default PW Jeep Project

OK i finally got a hold of a metal Jeep from another forum that only deals with power wheels.

I am building this for either my cousin's son or my friend's son can do the little tykes obstetrical course next year.

Here are my plans:
  • 4x4
  • Head lights, side marker(front), taillights
  • back up lights
  • change the reverse switch to a shifter
  • change over to 12 volt single battery, with an extra 6 volts for a NOS
  • working key switch
  • paint

First day i own it, here is what i ended up doing:

------------------------------------------------------------
Day 2
Bath Time!

------------------------------------------------------------
Day 2-4
Lighting

My wiring set up

------------------------------------------------------------
So that is what i got done so far.

maybe make one out of pvc, it will just have to be able to come off for it can fit in my blazer when i travel with it

I also just order the new 12 volt so that should be coming in some time next week.

and i just added another power Positive power block, how the first one was only made for when the toggle switch is turned to on, and in the future ill need other spots for power not working off that toggle switch.

O yea and i found a way to make a winch that works for it
Here is what it looks like:

So that might have to be another thing i add. All he did was take an old motor/gearbox from another power wheels and added a reel, and covered it up in a small metal box. He also made a remote to be able to winch from a distance safly like a normal warn winch has. Couldn't find that pic that i seen. o well you guys can get the idea

Actually at the moment its got a Power Wheels 1" body lift...Yeah..power wheels made lift kits for some of their Jeeps back in the day. And then came with a bigger tire then the stock version then.

If you go back and look at the picture of my frame, I had left the body lift kit on the front, at the time i took the picture.

I might do a bigger lift later. but i want to get all these other things done first.

sadly enough i do not have the gas cans for it. The guy was selling it as a part out, but i got a hold of him by the time he only had sold the gas cans and holders. And I had left the engine cover behind how i would not need it once i added the bigger battery.

I've got one of those sitting in the pole barn to build whenever I get my other projects out of the way.....or when I have kids, whichever comes first. I plan for a black pipe tube frame, mini roll cage, high output motors, 4wd, 4 link, pneumatic tires, etc. Why? I don't know, more like why not.

Day 6 (10/31/08)
Installed a Key Switch, and a Volt Gauge. Only the light is working in the Volt gauge and nothing with the switch as of right now. How i am waiting for my 12 volt battery to come in. And I will be making a brand new hire harness for everything which all that will be connected to.

Here is what it looks like on the dash as of right now.

Ok i want some peoples opionon before I paint the Jeep. I am planning on painting it Allis Chalmers Orange. I was thinking about getting some decals made for it, that would match whats on an actual Allis Chalmers...either saying "Allis Chalmers" on the side of the hood or either "Jeep" with their text. and for where it shows the model it is "B" for the picture below. Put "YJ-7." What do you guys think?

and here is a jeep that has been painted that color already.
