Beat one up? Huh? What? Are you not familiar with the term "kick them to the curb"??? It has nothing to do with beating anyone.

Did I say I was going to "beat one up"?! Don't think I did. I said kick his ass to the curb, for those with no common sense, that means "get out of my house and stay away from my daughter NOW". Sorry, i forgot my "Common sense to Dumb-ass" dictionary translation.

And yeah, I may threaten your kid to stay away from mydaughter if thats what it takes to get thru to him, but of course if it gets to the point to where you need to be "taught a leasten", then where and when? BTW, your 13 year old better stay away from my 6-month old!

I agree with you IF you assume their spouting off endlessly in a preaching fashion. Making comments about things that the students are dealing with outside of the context of the class or engaging them in a short discussion of current events can't be a bad thing IMHO.

You should hope that your kid participates and then comes home and continues the discussion with you, that would be the ultimate for me!
a discussion about controversial subject does not belong in the class room and working it into the lesson plan is not teaching its manipulating a innocent young persons mind either sawing them to the dems or the repubs is a injustice it should be the kids parents doing this.

I apologize, I am not familar with that idiomatic expression and misinterpreted.

Still, be careful threatening 13 year olds. They are still kids.

BTW, I am surprised his spanish teacher (language arts) was offended.

He made the statement
"Obama can (has the ability to) suck my balls".
That is an accurate statement assuming he has a mouth big enough.

Had he said
"Obama would like to suck my balls" or
"Obama should suck my balls" or
"Obama may (is permited to) suck my balls"
he is making an assumption without fact to support his position.

Again with the assumption that a teacher would be "sawing them" one way or the other and not just discussing a current event.

That's just funny, only a parent should have any influence on a child's politics, do I have that right?

If you're going to be that involved with your child's take on politics, wouldn't you be able to deal with whatever they hear from someone else? Are you afraid of them hearing other opinions? I want my daughter to hear all kinds of thoughts and opinions on everything, not just mine.

As long as you're joking, that's hilarious and I laughed out loud at it. If you're really tying to defend the comment, that's sad.

He should of made the statement in Spanish. As far as Brosama deserving respect he needs to earn it and has done nothing to earn mine.

TEACHERS are hired to TEACH. Yes, they specialize in one subject most times, but just because its a Spanish class does not mean they can not talk current events. Current events is a great way to get kids involved in class discussion.

Also, as bigwalton has said time and time again, you don't even know what the teacher said. Maybe she really was trying to get the kids to voice their opinions on the election in Spanish. Maybe someone asked her about the election in class and she was responding. Maybe, just maybe you are reading a little too much into what happened.

Agreed. He should have said

"Obama puede aspirar mis bolas"
