With prop 1 how is it any different than Vicodan or other prescription drugs? Why wouldnt you want people to have pain relief?

Glad they both passed.

Same here, mixed feelings on #2, but voted for it.

its no different than guns or any other illigal substances the people that want it can get it.....and very easily.....I dont think it will change any of the potheads in the world but I think it will help some people in illness, and thats enough for my vote.

Glad they both passed.

I agree that if it is beneficial, then it should be allowed. I voted no for the proposal because I would rather that it be regulated the same way prescription drugs are. At this point, people can't whip up their own batch of vicodan merely because their doctor says they need it. I realize that growing pot is most likely much easier than making vicodan, but still there are several different variations of the plant and different hybrids that can lead to very different levels of THC.

I also didn't agree with the way the cards will be distributed. I am surprised it passed, but not disappointed. It is a start so that it is legally available to those in need. My hope is that continued movement toward full legalization and some standards can happen. Why shouldn't it be legalized, regulated, and taxed just like alcohol and tobacco?

Even with those items, there is still abuse that happens and misuse. Not gonna ever "fix" that as they are addictive mind-altering drugs.

As for prop 2, I also voted no only because I was not comfortable with the language in the proposal. I would have liked to see more specific definition of terms, but also understand that the wording was specifically generic to get it on the ballot. Again, I'm not disappointed it passed, as I do think that continuing research is important.

Why does the state web site show that 2 didnt pass ?

Also, on Prop 1, countries with legalized marijuana dont have any higher addcition rate than the US, infact they have a lower addiction rate in most cases.

Prop 1 doesn't leagalize week either. Its not like it will make it so people can cruise into the liquor store and grab a 40 and an ounce.

The problem with the proposition is that it's written wrong. I am all for people getting pain relief, but the way its written leaves it too open for random "I'm in pain though." defense for the guy buying it off the street.

And I am really glad the prop 2 passed. Hopefully they can make some headway on ALS.

Proposal 1 - yes.

Proposal 2 - yes. Fixing the existing f'd up people is better than worrying about people who don't exist yet (a percentage of which will be f'd up, too).

Proposal 3 - no. If you want to work in Oakland County, move your ass to Oakland County.
