Default Serious question about ammunition and guns.

Well with every person saying we better stock up now if we want ammo at a reasonable price/at all we better do it now. Is there any truth to that? I would have to imagine a pretty large time frame for any kind of tax to be imposed (Talking after our new president takes office) or a ban of any kind but forecasting something like happening could have a profound effect on prices right now.

Discuss.

ammo prices have jumped 50- 75% in the past two years or so, so it is already too late to stock up before the prices jump. I don't believe that they will take a more drastic jump just because Obama is in office.

It may not be an outright ban, but would be something like a large tax increase on ammo or more restrictions on the use of lead such as has already happened with shotshells.

wal-mart use to sell 100rds of .12ga target loads for $14.99. I just bought a box last weekend for $21.xx.

"Assault weapons" WILL be re-banned and as with many dem run localities, handgun ownership will probably be restricted. And depending on the status of the US Supreme Court after 4 years, it will be upheld

it will be tougher to purchase guns, especially pistols. Expect longer delays to get yor pistol permit, much much harder to get a CCW. It wouldn't suprise me if you will have to go through a process like the pistol permit for all guns.

What do you mean by this? CCW is handled locally, not by the fed's.

I would love to think that a Dem controlled house, senate and head cheese won't have an influence on state laws, but I don't... especially with how Dem MI has looked in the past.

Exactly why I'm trying to get my CCW before the end of the year.
