I have a sore back. I just pulled a quarter ounce out of the pocket of a kid and I'm gonna roll one to ease the pain.

Fuck it! Let the collapse of society begin.

i believe the debilitating conditions were listed on the ballot? Conditions like MS. This will be regulated, you'll have to get a permit, etc. Docs can't just dole out weed to a sore back.

If you've ever seen someone dying who's in a lot of pain (ie- cancer), this can be a good thing. Most pain meds have other bad side effects.

Yeah my retard roommate was all excited about this.
Me- it's for medical use man it doesn't mean you''ll be able to get it
him- it'll be easier
me- maybe, but they'll have it regulated so strictly that you're still gonna be screwed if u get caught with it
him- nope I'll be able to get it, I'm known for getting really bad migrains (sp) and my brother has depression so we'll both be able to get prescriptions for it.

What a retard, and he's on probation right now for weed, cops busted him smoking it

Have there been studies on the effects of smoking marijuana and lung cancer?

Can you get the same pain relief benefit from eating marijuana as you can from smoking it?

Has there been any work to extract the medical properties from the plant and convert it into a pill?

yeah, you can eat it, i heard it tastes like shit, hence pot brownies,

its a pain killer and helps people with cancer (going through therapy) hold down meals, (the munchies effect)

f-it, let all the pot heads smoke themselves stupid, i have ex-freinds thats say it doesnt hurt anything, but for some reason there all drop out losers who are too high to learn or care about life...

maybe the people in detroit can just get an ounce in the same envelope their wellfare check comes in...

You can eat it, and it's very effective that way in small doses. Also you can use a vaporizer which removes the harmful effects of the smoke.

They do have a chemical substitute, maranol(sp), for THC the main psychoactive chemical in cannabis, but it isn't nearly as effective and costs money to make.

There are 1000's of chemicals that are in cannabis and they don't know how to replicate them all. Not to mention the interactions between all the chemicals that would be impossible to replicate in pill form as well. It takes only pennies per dose to grow cannabis, doesn't involve any pharmaceutical companies to make, and doesn't require transportation which will help to minimize theft.

I voted for prop 1 it's a liberty that's been liberated, at least for some. I've personally known people who would have benefited from this law.

It would be a lot better if there was a quick way to test for it in the body, like a breathilyzer

Yes. There are some implications for long-term use. That's fairly obvious - there are huge side-effects from long-term prescription drugs as well.

Yes, however, it isn't nearly as effective. Cancer patients have reported that ingesting Marry Jane in smoke form allows them to keep food down (as well as pills) which is vital for treatment.

As i understand it, this is the primary issue, not pain management.
