OK, just started this tonight. '86CJ7 with a stock fuel injected '86 mustang 5.0. Started fine. Drove it 1/2 hr. Made several stops. Started fine each time. Drove about an hour through woods/trails, stopping once to jump shoot a goose
. Got home and let it set for 45min or so. Started hard. Turned over easily, but no fire, then tried again and it started, ran rough for a couple seconds and then was fine. Trail rode for 1/2hr, then stopped for 15min to vote. Came back out and wouldn't start. Turns over well, but nothing. Towed it home. Good spark, pump is one year old and sounds as typical. Finally got it started and it would rev fine, but not idle. Wanted to drop down REAL low, then back up to normal. All at about 1-2 second intervals. Will eventually stall if you don't gas it. Engine is fuel injected, otherwise feels like a choke issue. What is the component that tells the computer how much fuel is needed? My car has a throttle position sensor, would this have same system? Sorry for the long post, any help would be appreciated... geese are flying!
