Default Weird thing happened at the bank today.

I was inside the branch, filling out a deposit slip. In comes a known local bum and heads over to the cashier. Mumbles something I couldn't hear or understand and next thing I know, he has 2 new crisp $1 bills in his hand...sounds like Obama's redistribution of wealth started already...I need to switch banks.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what happened. No way he gave her coins in exchange.

I wouldn't doubt it. My fiancee works at a bank and they allow the drawers to be off by 15 dollars. I bet she gave him 2 bucks knowing full well that her drawer could be off by "X" amount...

All banks do this, cashier, csr, whatever they're called at the moment, can be off by certain amount of $$. Surely, if you are off everyday, they will be suspicious.

You're about 2 months too late to be short selling banks

I call bullshit. I had a GF that worked at a bank for years. She got written up for being off at all. To the penny everyday, if you can't add and subtract using a calculator and a computer then you can't work here.

Maybe they have lowered the standard in the last 10 years.

ZERO BALANCE

This is what banks look for.

If cashiers are off by less than $5 it is usually not a problem, but consistently being that far of is a problem and the cashier will get written up.

A slush fund? You have got to be kidding me. This is not a bartender who can poor a regular an extra beer ya know.

But maybe the zero balance is a local thing. My daughter is my source of information, she worked at a major bank branch in Birmingham. I guess counting is more important there.

Oh, she mentioned that the zero balance is expected every day and is reinforced with a monthly balance tabulation. These are banks, they do not fool around with money.
